Languages of Berlin - Graffiti Character Art

Languages of Berlin

What does Berlin look like to you? What sticks out to you? For me? It was all the graffiti, of course.

As a part of a 1-week workshop on my University, I teamed up with a couple friends to create a couple sets of posters. The plan for me was to find a couple of unique or interesting character-like graffiti and simply create a fan art version of them, with 2 others found and drawn by my mate. Finding the original creators for both these graffiti pieces was important, unfortunately we were only able to identify 1 of the 4 chosen pieces, for my characters they remain a mystery.

The rest was down to my last mate who worked on the graphic design, we then all collaborated on the typography and the thematic of what we felt the graffiti said to us the most. A bit high art in a sense, but I'm more interested in the fun drawing challenge that stemmed from this.
